D-CYPHR have partnered with the Manchester Health Film Festival (MHeFF) to help encourage health discourse through the power of cinema.
The event will take place on the 23rd November 2024 at Odeon Great Northern, Manchester hosted by Freshrb and will be an exciting opportunity for D-CYPHR to reach younger audiences, passionate about all things-health, driven to make a difference in their own way. The D-CYPHR team will be joined by one of our community partners, Caribbean and African Health Network (CAHN) and with community engagement agency, Egality Health to educate people on the importance of representation in health research.
We know that art, especially films, are a powerful way to drive meaningful change, educating and impacting people’s lives positively. We are so excited to work with MHeFF and to be given the opportunity to engage young filmmakers and audiences who are passionate about storytelling and health. D-CYPHR is made specifically for young people and this festival will be a fantastic opportunity to share our work and inspire young people, children, and their families to get involved in research.
The MHeFF is the first city-wide film festival that brings together creative talents, health professionals and the public to discuss health through creative films. The goal is to encourage a culture that enables empathy, clarity, understanding and public connections with health themes that remain hidden but affect livelihoods and communities.
Throughout the day, there will be a variety of health-related films being shown that focus on a range of different conditions. If you are interested in attending, tickets can be purchased through this link.
Help the future generations of children
Any family with children aged 0-15 in the UK can take part in D-CYPHR. We need volunteers with and without health conditions to better understand childhood health.
All you have to do is sign up online, fill in a health and lifestyle questionnaire and we will send a saliva kit for you to complete. Then, all you have to do is send it back to us in the post.
