The Manchester BioResource Centre is hosted by the NIHR Manchester Clinical Research Facility (CRF) and supported by the NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre (BRC).
Manchester is the national lead centre for the IMID – (Immune Mediated Inflammatory Diseases) BioResource, supporting research into conditions like Rheumatoid Arthritis, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), and Psoriasis. Since October 2024, we are actively recruiting participants as part of our commitment to increase representation in health research.
We are currently openly recruiting to three national initiatives:
- IMID – (Immune Mediated Inflammatory Diseases) BioResource – recallable resource of ~19,000 patients with IMIDs
- D-CYPHR (DNA, Children and Young People's Health Resource) – supporting vital research into child and adolescent health
- IBHO (Improving Black Health Outcomes) BioResource – helping address health inequalities and ensure research better reflects our diverse communities
Our team works closely with clinicians, researchers, patients, local community organisations, and schools to raise awareness and ensure everyone has the opportunity to take part. We’re committed to making research inclusive, accessible, and relevant to the people of Greater Manchester and beyond.
